Cara Thornhart has the gift of healing animals. One night a friend brings her a dog that he hit with his truck. It turned out to be a hellhound. Strangers appeared in her house to take the hell hound. Another showed up as well. When Ares appeared through a bright light, he felt a strong need to protect the woman who has healed the hellhound. Unknown to Cara, the hellhound had bonded to her.

Throughout their trials together, Ares and Cara come to depend on each other. The fate of the world now rests on both their shoulders. Can they prevent the second seal from being broken? Will they finally give in to the passion raging between them?

This book was hard for me to start reading. Being raised in a strong Christian family, subjects like this are something you don't mess with. Once I got past that and just looked at it as a fictional story, I really began to enjoy it. It still left me a little uncomfortable because of fallen angels and demons, but I still enjoyed it. I am considering reading the others in this series. (The next book will be Immortal Rider and will be out in December of 2011.) I have no doubt that the paranormal readers will love this book. Larissa did write this well. This was my first read of hers.
