Blue Perrineau is a member of Dirk & Steele. He has the amazing power of controlling electricity. While on a mission overseas, he barely escapes death from an explosion after meeting a mysterious woman who works for the man he is trying to track down. He is called home after being told that his father has died. Reluctantly, he goes only to find out that his father is in hiding and still alive. Blue’s father tells him that he must now find, and bring back, a brother he never knew he had. If he refuses, his father threatens to expose Dirk & Steele, hurting the people Blue cares about, including his mother.

The trail leads Blue to Las Vegas and a small circus. There he meets Iris, a shapeshifter, who has four big wild cats that she talks to and controls in an amazing act. Blue’s heart is lost to her right from the start. Iris, who can’t stand to be touched, finds that Blue’s touch is not only welcome, but she longs for it. But, like Blue, she is scared to tell Blue what she really is. She is scared to allow herself to get too close to him because of her past. To make matters worse, Blue not only finds his brother, Daniel, but Daniel has a crush on Iris.

Blue finds that not only must he protect his brother, but now he must protect Iris as well. Physical attacks, kidnap attempts, and more. Will Blue and Iris get the chance to explore the heated passions they share? Will Blue ever tell Daniel who he is and why he is there?

Marjorie Liu has another winner with Eye of Heaven. This is my third Dirk & Steele novel that I have reviewed for MyShelf, and I love them more with each one I read. The mystery, suspense, hot passion, romance, they all make for a great story. Her stories take you around the world to different places and cultures. Her unique characters keep you on your toes and glued to the pages until you finish. You keep reading so you can find out what will happen next. I definitely recommend this book. I can’t wait for the next one.
