Harper James
is a divorced divorce attorney with an attitude. She loved her ex-husband,
Nick, but she was young when they married and Nick didn’t
appreciate her enough. Their divorce happened some time ago, and
she hasn’t seen Nick since. Fate steps in when Harper’s
step-sister, Willa announces she’s getting married to none
other than Nick’s brother, Christopher! Naturally, Harper
and Nick find themselves suddenly face–to-face and this time
fate works overtime to trip Harper up and throw her into a cross-country
drive with Nick. Will Harper stay with hunky boyfriend Dennis, a
firefighter who doesn’t entirely light her fire, or will she
and Nick reunite now that they are older and wiser?
Kristan Higgins
is a talented writer, who knows how to develop both characters and
plots that entice a reader to read “just one more chapter”
to find out what happens next. I really enjoyed this book for its
quirky humor and true to life stories. I found myself rooting for
true love, and living vicariously through some of the adventures
in seeing the country via an extended road trip.
Romance readers
will love this book. Author Higgins is a RITA award winning writer
and this book showcases her talent well. Even if you aren’t
usually a romance book fan (I’m not), you will find the story
engaging and funny, and the love story bittersweet. I enjoyed reading
it a lot, and I recommend it for a rainy weekend read, a summer
beach read, and do believe it should be a mandatory read for fans
who already adore author Kristan Higgins.
