The fourth
and final novel in the Black Cobra series, this episode begins in
the Transylvanian mountains, races across Europe and concludes in
the British countryside.
Rafe Carstairs is a retired officer of the British East India Company.
Along with his cohorts, he has journeyed long and far to expose
the misdeeds of the Black Cobra, an English aristocrat who has caused
chaos in India as he has siphoned vast sums from the Crown’s
Indian operations. Now it is up to Rafe to deliver to the Duke of
Wolverstone the final document that will prove the Black Cobra’s
identity and culpability.
As with the previous novels, there’s naturally a ravishing
female who plays a pivotal role in moving the action ahead. In this
case it is Loretta Michaelmarsh, a ravishing spinster who has been
on the shelf all too long. She’s been waiting for just the
right male to set her heart on fire and you can guess who that special
man is.
Drawn together by fate, Rafe and his lady embark on this dangerous
but exciting overland journey that will ultimately spell the end
of the Black Cobra, providing the couple can avoid his venomous
bite. Of course, if they fail there will be no “happily-ever-after”
scene in the novel’s closing pages!
If you have followed this series, obviously you’ll want to
be in on the final confrontation between these male adversaries.
A number of couples have worked hard and sacrificed much to get
the story to this point. The end is in sight and justice will finally
be served- what fun!
