Vanessa Pembrooke is a bookish woman with a passion for paleontology. Following in her father’s footsteps, she is determined to prove the existence of a legendary beast. When she finds her fiance and her younger sister making love in her father’s library two days before her wedding, she packs her bags and leaves for Scotland to follow her dream. Once she reaches her destination, she finds herself in a bad situation. A stranger steps in to help and she finds herself hand-fasted to him. Not what she wanted.

Graeme Langford is an English Duke. However, his first love is Scotland. He has been searching for the Stone of Destiny for over ten years. It is his dream to find it and return it to Scotland. He knows that the one in England is a forgery. The Stone of Destiny is one of the four stones of the Kingmaker. But when he gets hand-fasted to a woman he doesn't even know, he finds a treasure he never imagined.

Together, Vanessa and Graeme work to find the Stone of Destiny, the proof that Vanessa is searching for, and to find a love neither had expected or even believed existed. But when a evil treasure hunter shows up, danger is around every corner. Who will survive the race to find the remaining stones of the Kingmaker?

Reading this book was a joy for several reasons. Vanessa’s character is like seeing Dr. Brennan from the TV show, Bones, crossed with a “Romancing The Stone” feel to it. She over analyzes every little emotion, reaction, and response. She even believes you can separate sexual passion from emotions. It was so much fun. It was also fun watching Graeme as he begins to realize that he is falling for Vanessa. Add to this the thrill of the chase to find the stones, and you have a great story. This is DeHart’s third book in the Legend Hunters series. The first book, Seduce Me, was reviewed by MyShelf.com. The second is Desire Me. I loved Treasure Me, so you can bet I’m going to be reading the others.
