Destiny, Ohio, seems to be the place where emotionally damaged men and understanding women originate and gravitate. In Toni Blake’s latest Destiny Novel (following 2009’s One Reckless Summer and 2010’s Sugar Creek), former motorcycle gang member, Lucky Romo returns from his years of lawlessness in California to hide out in his hometown. Now making an honest living painting skulls, fire, and other accents on motorcycles, he meets his sexy neighbor, Tessa Sheridan, an interior designer who harbors her own secret past.

Unlike Lucky’s dark secrets, Tessa’s secrets aren’t the dangerous kind. She’s coping with the completely unglamorous and unfortunately chronic heath condition, Crohn’s disease, which keeps her a prisoner in the bathroom when it flares up occasionally. While Lucky attempts to hide his mysterious past, Tessa attempts to hide her own problems. As their love blossoms beyond merely a sexual attraction, they both learn to trust each other and reveal more of themselves.

Can a very good girl and a very bad boy compromise enough to meet in the middle and make a long-term relationship work? Can Tessa reclaim the spirited sensuality she enjoyed before her sickness? Underneath all those muscles and tattoos, can Lucky rediscover the sweet boy he once was before a childhood tragedy took his life off course? Those essential questions propel the story forward.

As in her previous novels about Destiny, Blake includes many colorful town residents and intertwining characters. Friends of both central characters weave their way throughout each of the books, making the relationships feel genuine and vital to the characters’ connectedness to the town. Blake also includes the same highly passionate love scenes her fans have come to expect. In Whisper Falls (the title refers to a legend associated with a local waterfall), readers will continue their love affair with the sexy residents of this small Ohio town.
