She would not
marry him! There was no way that Lady Madeline Matthews was going
to marry Lord Clifton. He was old, he was condescending
he
was repulsive; but how to escape the Lord and her parents' demands?
She needed a plan
no, she needed a scandal, a truly ruinous
scandal. The perfect solution; a brief but passionate affair with
famous actor Logan Scott; after that, Lord Clifton would surely
never marry her. Madeline plans to throw herself at Logan, and then
return to a marriage-free life. She never counted on Logan. She
didn't count on him refusing her charms, or being so attractive
she
especially didn't count on falling in love with him. And Logan?
He never planned to marry, or to fall in love
he never planned
on someone like Madeline shaking up his world.
In Lisa Kleypas's
latest romance, Because You're Mine, Logan and Maddy discover
that sometimes life confounds even the best plans. I have to say,
there are so many things to love about this book. Logan is a great
romantic hero
passionate, kind and strong. He is never what
Maddy, or we expect. And Madeline is a perfect match for him with
her determination and zest for life. Watching these two dance around
each other is such a pleasure. Just when we are certain that we
know the next step, Kleypas drops in a few twists that surprise
and delight.
What is so
typical about Because You're Mine is that it is not a typical
romance novel. Of course there's romantic sizzle; of course there's
a happy ending. But Lisa Kleypas always travels her own path and
this is no exception. She draws you so deeply into the characters'
world and lives, and makes you care so deeply about what happens.
So, start this lovely book for the romance, but stick around to
the end for all of the additional pleasures. You won't regret it! |
