Lady Christina
Fairhaven was abandoned as a child. However, she is totally devoted
to her adoptive family. She is also quite protective of her troublesome
brother. So, when the travel-weary and battle-scarred Captain Gavin
Briggs shows up at her cottage door, Lady Christina is very cautious.
Captain Briggs gives her the shocking news that she is the granddaughter
of an aged, bad-tempered duke. She is stunned, but only temporarily.
Christina is
determined not to meet the duke who abandoned her when she was a
child. This also means that Gavin will not receive his significant,
and much needed reward. But, then again, if the good Captain would
help her find and rescue her brother, she just might agree to see
her grandfather the duke.
The road is
laced with treachery, peril, attraction, temptation, and unexpected
passion. Getting to London could cost them both their lives. They
must learn to work together to survive. Put it all together and
you have the makings of a great action/adventure historical romance.
What more could you ask for? Margo Maguire has quite a talent for
this kind of story. You'll love it.
