You have to feel for Viscount Debenham…you really do! The Viscount, who is also Dominic Lachlan Guisachan, the eighth Earl of Glencrae, is in quite a desperate situation. In order to fulfill the terms of a loan his father took, he must turn over a priceless piece of Scottish history to the bank. Soon. Very soon, or he will lose everything. Unfortunately, Dominic's mother has hidden the goblet, refusing to return it until her son brings her what she demands - one of the daughters from London's illustrious Cynster family. She cares little about which daughter; she demands that one of the girls be brought to her in Scotland.

So far, fulfilling this task has been a disaster. Dominic has failed in his attempts to kidnap two of the sisters, leaving only the youngest, Angelica, known for her impulsive nature. But…Angelica it must be, so Dominic makes one final effort. Can he persuade her to become his partner in deceiving his mother? Will she agree to leave her wealthy family and ride to Scotland against all of society's rules? Well, if you are acquainted with Stephanie Laurens' novels, you already know the answer to those questions!

The Capture of the Earl of Glencrae is a marvelous entry in the Cynster series. Angelica is pure Cynster; intelligent, adventurous and bold. She proves to be Dominic's match in every way. Together they concoct a scheme to convince his mother that she has been cruelly kidnapped and ruined. Dominic will appear heartless and unfeeling, caring more for saving the clan than Angelica. But the truth is so much better. Watching these two dance around their true feelings for each other is just pure pleasure.

Stephanie Laurens has done it again. She has created a story where the adventure is exciting, and the romance full of passion and love. At the end of the book, you have to feel that Viscount Debenham might be the luckiest man in Scotland!
