If you have had your fill of vampire novels, stop reading! On the other hand, if the genre still interests you, this first title of a planned trilogy may be of interest. The author of the successful Guardians of Eternity series, Alexandra Ivy, has a proven track record. So be forewarned; once this talented author sinks her literary fangs into you, you'll definitely be under her spell!

It has been a long time since Gideon Ravel has lived among humans (yup, he's a vampire!), but that has changed. He's on a quest now to retrieve an amulet that has unbelievable power. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view), the precious amulet is in the possession of Simone, Lady Gilbert, who isn't fully aware why everyone is so interested in the "trinket" she wears around her neck.

Naturally, Gideon is not the only one interested in possessing the amulet. Naturally, Lady Gilbert does not choose to part with her possessions nor with the shattering secret about her past that would all but ruin her. Naturally, this passionate and slightly naughty couple will find a way to kindle the passionate emotions that they have worked so hard, up to now, to control. And, naturally Gideon will have to protect his lady from a far more sinister force than anything in his past.

A number of times you'll come across characters in this novel asking others to "trust them". Likewise, you'll have to trust me when I say that this a fast and rather satisfying read.

If you can't devour the 300 pages of this story in record time, either you aren't trying very hard or you have finally had your fill of this type of romantic thriller. Actually, I think you'll quickly discover this is too good a book to set down!
