The fourth novel in her acclaimed Regency historical series "The
Lost Lords," this story begins with Grey Sommers, Lord Wyndham,
languishing away in a French dungeon because of a not-so-discrete
indiscretion with a government official's wife.
Cassie Fox lost everything in the French Revolution and now her
passion is to see Napoleon dead and his empire smashed. If that
means getting Lord Wyndham out of prison, so be it.
When this ravishing spy releases a man who has languished in his
dark cell way too long, you'd think all that would matter to both
parties would be a quick exit from enemy territory, but they have
a final task to accomplish.
Although they are divided by a seemingly impassable gulf, these
two must manage to survive to not only fulfill their mission but
also to allow their newfound relationship to blossom in a less hostile
environment.
If you enjoy romance literature, this novel will more than keep
you amused for a few hours. An accomplished writer, Putney knows
how to create characters who hold her reader's attention and a story
that never lacks breathtaking action. This is the ideal diversion
for a sunny day while soaking up some sun.
