Imagine going for a job interview at a five star Washington, DC restaurant and being physically accosted by your future employer and his huge body guard. Well, that is what happened to Olivia MacKenzie, who just happens to work as counsel for the IRS. It seems Mr. Jorguson thought she was an FBI plant trying to trap him into saying something that would get him arrested. What occurred was a messed up FBI sting, a ripped silk dress, and a date with sexy FBI Agent Grayson Kincaid.

Olivia joined the IRS with one goal in mind. So far she hasn't found any proof of wrong doing but she knows it is there -- she just needs access to the files. But so far she is just hitting dead ends. Being a lawyer, she also works with judges on cases that involve children in need. On the way home from a reception with handsome hunk Grayson, Olivia receives an SOS call from Tyler - one of her child clients. She knows he is in trouble --- -good thing she has an FBI agent in tow. A rescue and safe return of young Tyler to his family occurs.

On her way home from a meeting with her boss, Olivia is enjoying the quiet the new snow brings. As she reaches her apartment building, Olivia hears some popping sounds and is hit by the whizzing bullets. Everything then goes black.

Some questions to ponder: Who wants Olivia dead? Would she ever realize her goal? Would Grayson ever become part of her life?

Julie Garwood has written another romantic suspenseful novel. It is filled with caring and loving characters that feel like real people. This is an action packed page-turner and so well written that I was sorry when I reached the end.
