There has been a series of murders in the Crimson City. Los Angeles is no longer the City of Angels. It is full of Vampires and Werewolves. Michael is a slayer. He's the one the council sends to punish those Vampires that break the laws. He's the one that the council sent to find out who is killing Vampires and making it look like it is a Werewolf.

Keeli Maddox is a Werewolf. She has made it her mission to find out who is doing the killing of Vampires and blaming the Werewolves for it. Now, if she and her pack are to survive, She must trust a man much different that herself.

Michael and Keeli must not only find a killer but fight to make sure the peace talks between the Werewolves and the Vampires don't deteriorate into a war. At the same time, both find themselves fighting a battle within because of the attraction they have for each other. Their brains tell them it's wrong, but their hearts tell them it's right. How do a Werewolf and a Vampire live normal lives?

Marjorie Liu has a great hit with A Taste of Crimson. The way she builds her paranormal worlds among the human race is wonderful. In this series the pieces all meld together flawlessly. It's a great story with surprises at the end. There is action, mystery, romance, and much more in this wonderfully told tail. It grabbed me right from the first page. You can't go wrong with this one.
