In
a universe where corruption and deception rule the day,
sparks of rebellion threaten to ignite…
Zarya’s
entire family was murdered, due to one man’s greed,
forcing her to grow up on the back streets of hell.
She became a resistance leader; with the goal
to topple the government that destroyed her family.
Her
right hand is a mysterious man known only as Kere.
But Kere has a dark secret.
Born into a world as privileged as it was corrupt,
his real name is Darling Cruel and he’s heir to
the government Zarya wants to overthrow.
Just like Zarya, he wants his uncle to pay for
killing Darling’s father and stealing his crown.
Darling
has lived a life torn between the two roles.
No one has ever seen the real him; no one but
Zarya. She’s the only
person he’s ever trusted.
But when she allows a weapon he designed just
for her to be used against his sister, all bets are
off.
Now,
betrayed by the resistance, Darling’s goal is
not only to reign, but to kill every resistance member
he can find. Zarya is the
only one capable of stopping him.
But can she get past his rage and insanity to
find the hero who once fought by her side.
Anyone
who has read Kenyon’s League series has been waiting
on pins and needles for Darling’s story.
He’s always been the tortured and beaten
rich kid to his friends and family.
No one has ever seen the other side of him.
The most precious thing in his life is his sister.
So when someone in the resistance goes after
her, Darling’s rage is unleashed.
This
is a must for Kenyon fans. Holter
Graham does his usual stellar job of reading.
He reads all of Sherrilyn’s books, so he
has a good grasp of each of the characters.
I can’t imagine anyone else reading her
books. But you better hurry;
the next two in the series are Cloak and Silence,
due out February 15, 2013, and Born of Fury,
due out April 1, 2013. What
a treat to have two of them so close together.
I can't wait!
