Kate Fenelli's desire to be a successful attorney has always been her dream. She eventually becomes a junior partner at law firm in Vail - at the cost of her marriage. Years later, Kate is heading back to Valentine because her law partners put her on sabbatical. Kate is planning to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas at her parents. Her ex-husband, Tony DeLuca, and her son, Ethan, live in Valentine. Tony runs Tony's Tavern and his sister is Kate's former best friend. Kate may be feeling like a failure where her job is concerned but, just wait until she's forced to face past choices and future possibilities. In layman's terms: Scrooge ain't got nothin' on her.

This is my first Valentine Valley novel. I took Kate and Tony's story as a standalone. The only time I felt confused was when the secondary characters started adding up - some I believe from past Valentine titles and possibly for future ones. However, it didn't stop me from enjoying Sleigh Bells. The moment I opened the cover I was lost in the world of Valentine. Cane paints as beautiful Christmas scene in our minds. She gives readers full-bodied characters and an emotional storyline. Kate is a heroine you're tempted to judge but can't because you witness her inner most thoughts. Tony is the hero you hope is ready to forgive. Valentine Valley is a town filled with family and friends looking out for each other. To me, Sleigh Bells in Valentine Valley is more than just a romance; it's a beautiful story about coming home. I'm quite certain readers will enjoy watching this love story play across the pages. I know I did.
