Marja's life once was simple and carefree. Since birth, she had the unique gift of sight
that allowed her to be able to see eternal olfs. She spends her days helping out her
family by searching for bog iron.
The world as she knows it changes abruptly when a stranger appears. Lexander is a slave
trader who trains young minds to learn the seductive art of pleasure. Seeing Marja, he
knows he must have her to add to his collection. He recognizes that she can bring him
an abundant supply of wealth. He makes a proposal to her father to purchase her and for
the price of two cows, she becomes his.
Surprisingly, once she gets over the initial shock of being sold, Marja is accepting of
her new life. She is a quick study in the exotic arts. In the short time she is with
Lexander she quickly becomes one of his best students. Love develops from their union,
but evil forces wish to deny their newfound feelings.
To Serve and Submit is a book that offers a complex look into a strange world.
Do not let the subject matter put you off; all the elements in this book were needed. At
first, I hated Lexander for how he came into Marja's life, but after reading how their
feelings developed, I grew to accept his reasoning. This is definitely a very deep and
dark, thought-provoking book. It will lead you into a world that some would like to think
doesn't exist, but it does.
I challenge readers to experience it with an open mind and an open heart. Have the
courage to experience something that is like no other book you have ever read. I think
once you finish, you will also come to the same realization that I have, that this book
is one of great substance.
