The Accidental Sorcerer
Rogue Agent - Book I
by K E Mills
All Gerald Dunwoody has ever wanted to be is a wizard, and he is one. Trouble is, he is not a very good one and
hates his job as a safety inspector, even if it means not having to be a tailor in the family business. One day
he is routinely inspecting a factory that makes wizards’ staffs when something goes very wrong and the place gets
blown up. Gerald gets the sack but then his best friend points out an interesting job in the newspaper. Surely,
being court wizard in the tiny sunny country of New Ottosland is going to be a walk in the park. Only if the
park is Jurassic Park...
Fantasy readers will know this author as Karen Miller, but to pen this humorous trilogy set in a parallel
modern world, she has become K E Mills. It is a well realized world too that is gradually revealed to us as
the story progresses, and it is hard not to like and sympathize with Gerald who makes a good protagonist. He
certainly gets put through the wringer. Despite the laughs, this is not always a particularly sweet tale, and
certainly a lot more than a comedy. It could do with some editing as it is a little overlong and tends to get
repetitive in several places. As book one in a series, it is a cracking opener, and has just got particularly
interesting, with a lot of loose ends, as the book closes. Witches Incorporated (Amazon

UK) and Wizard Squared
(Amazon UK) are going
to be worth looking out for. |
