Turn Coat
The Dresden Files, Book 11
by Jim Butcher
When the Warden Morgan is accused of a murder he did not do, he knows the White Council will
choose speed over fairness, so he turns to the one person who knows what it's like to be
persecuted by the White Council: Harry Dresden. Of course, Harry and Morgan hate each
other—but that's not going to change anything. Harry can't turn his back on an
innocent man, not even if it means facing the worst kind of magical nightmare creature:
a skinwalker. Harry has to find the guilty party before the Council tracks Morgan down.
This eleventh installment in the Harry Dreden series continues the darker turn that
the series has taken. We get to visit with some of our favorite characters: Murphy, Billy
and the werewolves, Harry's apprentice Molly, his brother Thomas, and the most amazing dog
in literature: Mouse. We also get to see more of the other wizards in the magical world and
they become more than just an anonymous threat. It amazes me how well Butcher has managed
to write eleven books in this series and still feel like we're still discovering new and
amazing things. This book have all the tension and twists we've come to expect of Harry,
and though it has slightly fewer giggles, it's a thrill ride from beginning to end. Be
sure to set some time aside; once you open this book, you won't want to close it until
the very end. |
