Talk radio host Kitty Norville has received an unusual invitation to participate in TV's
first all-supernatural reality show. Though she expects the typical reality TV cheesy stunts,
she agrees to be one of the two resident werewolves. She and her fellow "monsters" soon learn
this show will get a little too real, and not everyone will be coming home from this publicity
stunt.
As a huge fan of all things paranormal, I was delighted by this introduction to Carrie
Vaughn's kick-butt werewolf heroine and her struggles to do the right thing when her wolf side
just wants to run and bite. What could be more perfect than a reality show where a bunch of
otherworldly folks come together for conversation, competition, and mayhem?
I found the book fast paced and well crafted. And I thought Kitty was a respectable addition
to the ranks of tough, snarky, fantasy female leads. Finally, any writer who can eventually
make us LIKE the resident pain-in-the-butt skeptic definitely has skills. Despite the mayhem,
this book has some laugh-out-loud moments that will make you look for more in this
series—I know I will.
