Meet Felix Gomez. He is Latin. He is a private investigator and,
last but not least, he is a vampire. Yes, Mr. Gomez is a very busy
man.
Early on in Werewolf Smackdown, Felix is called to interview
for a case in Charleston, South Carolina. He is lead to believe
that he is going to be asked to solve the murder of a werewolf.
Upon arriving, is escorted into a meeting with attorney Eric Bourbon,
where he discovers that he is not there to solve a murder but to
become a high priced hit man. Bourbon is an alpha werewolf and wants
his rival, Randolph Calhoun, eliminated.
Gomez promptly refuses. He does not want to be the vampire that
breaks the shaky truce among the supernatural entities. Little good
does, as it appears that has made him a target for assignation himself.
He is attacked within minutes after leaving the meeting.
Along the way, Gomez meets an old love, flirts with a new love,
and tries to divert the civil war that is brewing between the werewolf
factions and could expose all of the supernaturals to the world.
I enjoyed this, the fifth book in the Felix Gomez series. I must
note that if you have not read the earlier books, there are reccurring
characters that may be hard to keep up with.
I would recommend this book not only to werewolf and vampire readers,
but also place it in the urban fantasy section that has recently
popped up.
