As a fan of the Hollows series, I was delighted to see a new book even as I was saddened to know this would be the last for this series. Rachel Morgan as been through a lot in the series – she’s loved, she’s lost, and she’s hung on to the things that mean the most to her. This final novel does a great job of tying up the complex world she’s created for these characters. The vampires, the elves and the demons and their hatred of one another are core to this final book. As always Rachel finds herself right in the middle of conflicting desires. The vampires want their souls. The elves want an end to the vampires and demons. The demons want to walk in the sunshine. And as each group struggles to achieve their goal, the end might just destroy magic itself. This last book has all the conflict and consquence that anyone could ask of a Hollows novel – and while the epilogue is a little cheesy, it’s also the perfect gift to the fans who stayed with Rachel to the very end.
