Evie Tanaka has no interest in being a superhero. She's happy to be the personal assistant to Aveda Jupiter, San Francisco's number one demon-fighting superhero. But when Aveda is injured, she insists that Evie impersonate her to keep the city safe until Aveda is recovered. Unfortunately, pretending to be Aveda requires more from Evie than anyone expected and just may reveal the one secret she never intended to share. I like superhero stories when there is plenty of snarky dialogue and humor, so this book was right up my alley. Evie is such a hot mess at the beginning of the book that it's fun just watching her be thrown into increasingly difficult situations that force growth just to survive. To be honest, if it weren't for the graphic sex, the book reads more teen than adult, especially in the characterization, but that didn't keep me from enjoying it. Plenty of action, a slightly silly plot, and giggle galore, this book is well worth picking up and breezing through.
