Eat
to Live
The Revolutionary formula for Fast and Sustained
Weight Loss
By Joel
Fuhrman, M.D.
This
book takes a slightly different approach to weight loss by concentrating
on health. It can be described as looking at the ratio between nutrients
and calories, where the more nutrient-dense food one eats, the more
the person will be satisfied by eating fewer calories. Dr. Fuhrman
suggests that people follow an extremely rigid change of eating
pattern, where people eat mostly vegetables and beans. He states
that several people have lost several pounds of fat in a rapid amount
of time. Dr. Fuhrman also spends some time talking about the importance
of exercising and that if people are not able to exercise, they
need to change their eating patterns and then attempt to do something,
even if it's for ten minutes.
In the
beginning of his book, Dr. Fuhrman discusses medical and biological
explanations of why people become fat and how eating nutrient-denser
food is preferable. This reader agrees that people do not eat enough
fruits and vegetables or drink enough liquid, but that few people
would be able to follow this rigid diet plan.
