See Jane Lead
99 Ways for Women to Take Charge at Work

by Lois P. Frankel, PhD
Read by author

"Are you saying you have to be mean and nasty to achieve your goals?" Lois P. Frankel, PhD says No!

Lois P. Frankel, PhD author of Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office delivers strong how-to advice on leadership for woman. In the intro, she mentions that her last two books focused on the Nice Girl Syndrome - "Nice girls suffer from the disease to please." Frankel explains she’s moving past both books, which list the common mistakes women make in the workforce, and on to the strategy of unleashing one’s leadership capabilities. In chapter 2 Frankel states it quite simply -- "See Jane Lead is a blueprint of how you could lead in any situation." - Lois P. Frankel, PhD

Right away, Frankel reminds listeners: Great leaders are those who make others feel comfortable... "People either won’t follow or sabotage the efforts of leaders they don’t like." And the key to Leadership is getting people to follow you... "Muscle less and influence more." "Criticize less and reward more." "Direct less and include more."

"See Jane’s Vision. See Jane’s Strategy. See Jane Lead."
What I enjoyed most about this audio book - besides the leadership advice - is the bonus material on CD 3. Pop it in the computer, click on bonus titles, print out each set, and be prepared to say: wow, I just learned something new about me! (The author recommends printing each section before you hit play.)

Frankel is a leader in her field. Her books rationally present, explain, and solve the leadership role for women. See Jane Lead is intelligent and comprehensive in its content. Frankel narrates the Hachette’s audio version. Her voice is as clear and precise as the content. Ladies, forget the headphones - better yet pass it around!
