Teacher and healer Jack Angelo has produced an outstanding and detailed audio course for those who "have a natural
urge to heal others." Distant Healing is built upon the theory that it isn’t necessary to be in close
physical proximity to send healing energies.
While it may sound far-fetched, there is a scientific background to the practice. In quantum physics, a phenomenon
known as ‘non-locality’ shows that what is experienced by one particle is instantaneously known and reacted to by
a twin particle which is in another location. Experiments performed on live cells from a single person that are
separated by many miles have proven that whatever is experienced by a cell in one location has an immediate effect
on the other cells.
This is certainly not a new concept. Energy healing has been practiced with great success for thousands of years
by traditional healers. Healing prayer is a practice in which the faithful engage every day. In Distant
Healing, Jack Angelo provides a structure for learning or for enhancing the skills and use of this ancient
practice.
This course provides a solid background for those who want to pursue the path of the compassionate healer. Angelo
begins by explaining where the ability to heal comes from, what it is and the many uses for it. He also addresses
some aspects of the practice that aren’t often discussed elsewhere, such as the ethics of healing without the
target’s knowledge and how to avoid depleting the healer’s own energy in the process.
The bulk of the course, however, is devoted to practical exercises that lead to more focused ability. Disc Two
is dedicated to Body Energies and Baseline Practices, and prepares the practitioner for healing with
exercises of attunement. Disc Four, Animals, Plants, and the Environment, spells out specific exercises for
communing with other species in order to share healing energy with them. Other sessions in the course provide
instruction for group work, which may be required when sending healing energy to a large number of targets—for
instance, the victims of a natural disaster.
"Our time calls for new forms of action and commitment," says Angelo, a teacher and healer with almost 30 years
of experience in the field. He has worked with the National Federation of Spiritual healers as well as Native
American medicine teachers. "Distant healers dedicate their work to the light," he tells us. "...they are
effectively proclaiming, ‘Let there be light!’" Distant Healing sheds plenty of light on this ancient
technique for sharing curative energy. This is an ideal introduction for those who want to learn how to begin, but
is also an excellent resource for experienced healers of any tradition.
