It’s About Time!
10 Smart Strategies to Avoid Time Traps and Invest Yourself Where It Matters

by Carolyn Castleberry

Carolyn Castleberry is a wife, mother, author, journalist, and co-host of the television show Living The Life. She’s clearly a busy woman, but unlike many of us, Castleberry has discovered the secret for making all her activities fit into a 24 hour day.

Even better—she shares the secret in her new book, It’s About Time! Castleberry makes a promise to her readers on page 1: "...if you finish this book, and even apply three of my strategies to avoid the real time traps of life, you’ll be able to count the moments it took to read it as time saved."

Throughout the book, the author provides Action Applications. These are simple exercises designed to help determine whether time is spent on priority activities, to improve the quality of life, and to help clarify the value of time-gobblers—What Matters to You, Testing Your Habits, and Moving Forward, for example.

Nailing down time-wasting activities is, of course, the first step toward taking control of our lives and doing more of the things we really want and need to do. Castleberry points out something that will surprise many readers—worry and anger top the list of time-wasters. "How many years have escaped us because of procrastination, indecision, complaining, or self-pity?" she asks.

Castleberry is a devout Christian and uses Biblical passages throughout this nicely organized and smoothly crafted book. There is none of the superhuman do-it-now-or-die attitude found in some books of this type. A calm and relaxing read, It’s About Time! is insightful, engaging, and eminently practical for all of us in this hectic, demanding world.
