Hunting Season
A Field Guide for Targeting and Capturing the Perfect Man
by Elle
Some women believe that when the right man comes along, their eyes will meet, hearts will
race, and both will know that it’s true love that will last forever. These women needn’t bother
reading Hunting Season, a coldly calculating book that teaches females how to capture
men for spouses or merely for casual sex, using hunting terms and concepts as metaphors for
the dating scene.
The author, Elle, whose last name and true identity remain a mystery, tells her readers to
start with the basics: Decide whether they are trophy hunting (i.e., looking for a spouse) or
looking just to bag ‘n’ tag (i.e., casual sex). These two different goals have distinctly
different rules to follow. Once the agenda is determined, women can then move on to finding
appropriate kill zones, which Elle describes as nightclubs, restaurants, organizations, or even
vacation spots where hunters feel comfortable in the surroundings and have established
relationships with employees. When hunting season officially begins—April 1 through
September 30—hunters can stalk their prey using the various tips from this book.
Although the author seems to sincerely want to help her readers, using many of her own
personal experiences as examples, her advice will apply to only a very specific audience. The
book tells readers to practice telling lies in front of a mirror, offers pickup lines for
luring men home for the night, suggests places to meet sailors and other military men on leave,
and recommends joining a cigar club for meeting lively prey. Almost any single woman can find
some useful advice in Hunting Season, but only true hunters will relate to the unromantic
metaphors contained within. |
