This is a wonderful book for women in the prime of their life. And this is a primer for women in their 50’s and 60’s, but even younger women can gain something from it to help them in the later years. I have read a lot of menopausal books on all the subjects we women face during this critical time in our lives and can say without a doubt that I actually learned something from this one. Topics include symptoms that I didn’t even know were symptoms. I had a couple of them myself. And the cure…is always the same; exercise, eat real food, lose weight, and know your numbers. Simple things include being proactive about your health, especially at this time in your life.

I am happy to say that I will follow the authors’ advice and trim the fat, not just literally. The book is written for women about women and it is easy to read and understand when so many of the books on the market are too stuffy and clinical. You will find yourself in the pages of testimonies. One thing I found interesting was an honest perspective on hormone therapy. If you are considering it, then this is a must read. The doctors give a very good analysis of the pros and cons of treatment. It may change what you have long held as fact about the side effects.

At any rate, the book is packed full of information and advice. You will find something in the book that speaks to you. Read it and reap a new healthy view on life in the “post” lane!
