Several months ago, I reviewed another book on the subject of overcoming addiction, and my interest in learning about the methods that have moved into the forefront of addiction counseling sparked. “Believable Hope” offered me another opportunity to read and learn not only about addiction, but about creating the life you want as well.

The book consists of five parts of essential elements, including Believable Hope, Visualize The Life You Want, Surround Yourself With Winners, Put Your Plan Into Action, and Maintain The Life You Love.

Each part has a selection of chapters followed by a question section, in which the reader can record their own answers, and follow their own progress and growth. I found it easiest to read just one chapter at a sitting, ruminate on it, and then set the book down for a while.
Once the message was absorbed, I was ready to read another chapter. Because I have been reading this book and others on similar subjects, I found similar phrases and lessons changing my own thoughts and preconceived notions. This is a good thing, because changing thought patterns can help to open one’s mind in unforeseen ways, which are often very positive.

I recommend “Believable Hope” for those struggling with addiction, but also to their friends, family members, and those who work in the field of addiction counseling.
