Ok, I am not going to freak out, but this audiobook is a little over the top. Honestly, if the author had presented this material with less aggression about what she is telling the reader not to freak out about; it would have come across more palatable. Every other word is the “F bomb” which is overused and takes away from the information she is trying to relay. While there is some redeeming quality in her theory and some of the help offered, there is simply just too much redundancy. Her whole premise revolves around calming down and learning how to take control of fear and anxiety. She speaks at the height of her passion throughout the audio, which is intense and breathless. For anyone who is listening to this book to learn how to calm the “F” down, it may be a little too intense. Knight does make a few good points, one of which is regarding worry. She points out that worrying about things that have not yet happened is a waste of time. It is far better to prioritize, worrying about first things first. For chronic worriers, this is good advice. And, she does give helpful advice on how to accomplish that. She presents the age-old advice of how to live with the things we cannot change, etc. Still, there just isn’t a lot I can say about this audiobook except, if you are a Sarah Knight fan and have listened to her previous work, “The Life /changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck”, then you have been exposed to her style and like it. For me, it is just too much “in your face” and I feel much better now that I finished the audio and switched it off. That calmed me right down.
