True
Blue Forever
By Joyce
Sterling Scarbrough
First
love! You remember what it was like, don't you? True Blue Forever
follows the paths of three boys and their first love, the adorable
Jeana Russell. Always the smartest girl in school, Jeana prides
herself on knowing what's important - and that sure isn't boys!
She
shares everything with her best friend Billy Joe, and has no idea
that he's been in love with her since childhood. Then there's Wade
Strickland, Jeana's childhood crush. Wade has changed from the sweet
and thoughtful boy Jeana loved into an arrogant jock. Sometimes
she misses their old friendship, but most of the time, she just
hates Wade. Then, in her sophomore year, Jeana herself falls in
love. Mickey Royal is everything Jeana thought she didn't want.
He's a jock, he's gorgeous, and he's the kind of guy who would never
look at a brainy girl like Jeana. But the jock and the brain fall
in love. But can it last? Can this love survive high school?
Joyce
Sterling Scarbrough's True Blue Forever is a sweet book filled with
beautifully drawn, believable and likeable characters. We cross
our fingers as Jeana and Mickey try to make their way through the
troubles and joys of high school. We laugh at each of Billy Joe's
goofy jokes, and hurt for Wade almost in spite of ourselves. The
book touches on issues such as abusive parents, teen sex, and drinking,
but never preaches.
True
Blue Forever is one of those books you have a really hard time
walking away from, kind of like your own first love.
