Death By Bikini
by Linda Gerber
Aphra feels trapped on the resort island owned by her father - she doesn't get to make friends or live like a normal
girl. But when a mysterious family shows up on the island in the middle of the night and Aphra's father begins
keeping scary secrets, Aphra decides she has to know what's going on behind the lies. Then when she discovers a
guest murdered, Aphra isn't sure who to trust. In many ways, this is a fairly typical "girl in peril" mystery
thriller but that doesn't stop it from being an exciting reading experience. Sure, if you've read many thrillers,
you figure out the villain almost immediately, but that doesn't mean it's not fun to see the chemistry between Aphra
and the cute mystery boy Seth. And there's still plenty of tension - will Aphra figure it out in time to save her
dad? How many people will the killer take out before the mystery is solved? And exactly what happened to Aphra's
mother? These questions kept me hanging on every word to the very end. I enjoyed the setting and found the author
had made the resort very real for me. The romantic elements add a nice, light touch and the novel is a quick read.
It's the perfect guilty pleasure to sneak in between ponderous school assignments. So if you're looking for
something lively and not too deep, I'm totally certain you'll enjoy your vacation to this resort - it's a killer. |
