The Fruit of My Lipstick
An All About Us Novel, Book 2
by Shelly Adina
The Spencer Academy boarding school girls are back, and this time it's Gillian Chang's turn to fall hard for the
wrong guy. It seems her boyfriend, super smart Lucas Hayes, isn't too bright in the boyfriend department since he
seems intent on changing Gillian to make her a better girlfriend. Can Lissa and Carly save her from giving up her
gift of honesty? And speaking of honesty - which of the Spencer students is selling exam answer sheets? The girls
need to find out before the whole Junior Class fails.
Like the first book in this series, this is definitely teen fiction with an edge. It combines many of the elements
of the most popular "rich kids" teen series, but with a Christian world view. That doesn't mean the teens aren't
tempted or don't make mistakes, but it does serve to show realistic Christian teens handling today's pressures in a
more believable way than many books I've read. The many pop culture and brand name references will date these novels
quickly, but for today's reader, they're relevant and very fun. I've enjoyed both that I've read so far. |
