It's All About Us
All About Us Series, Book 1
by Shelly Adina
Lissa Mansfield is having a tough year - she's moved to a new school where the "in crowd" is definitely not planning
to let Lissa in. On top of that, she and her opinionated roommate definitely dislike each other on first sight. Then,
she nabs the hottest boyfriend at Spencer Academy and Lissa's hoping he's the ultimate "in." But it's not long before
Lissa has to choose between every principle she believes in or keeping the hottest guy she's ever met - and Lissa may
be a Christian but she's definitely no angel. But as long as she sticks close to her real friends, she can count on
wise counsel - as long as she's willing to take it. I found it refreshing to see a Christian teen novel with so much
edge to it. Lissa not only faces temptation, she spends a fair amount of time trying to rationalize giving in to it
- at least a little. The conflict was real and felt true to the characters. Parents hoping for a novel where there is
no mention of sex might be nervous of this one, but parents who want a lively, fun book that shows Christian teens
are still struggling with the same questions and temptations as every other teen, will find a lot to like in this
lively new series. |
