Rosewater

by Alexei Gural

Anna is suffering from head trauma and amnesia when Jacqueline finds her and takes her in. Jacqueline is an angel who will watch over Anna, as the end of the world has come. Jacqueline takes her on a strange ride to meet up with Jacqueline’s band mates and hopefully reunite Anna with her family. While on earth in the human form Jacqueline and friends were in a well known rock band called Rosewater. While they run into other angels in human form, it appears that Anna might be the last human being on earth.

From there I don't want to tell you anything else. Why? Because this graphic novel was so unique you need to read it yourself to appreciate the story line. I've never before read a book with so few words but was totally drawn into the story from the pictures alone. I usually read crime or mystery books and have never read anything resembling a comic book in my life. It would not do it justice to categorize it as a comic book. It’s a thick graphic novel.

Something about this story line fascinated me. When I realized it was in a form I’ve never read before it drew me in even more. It’s amazing what can happen when you open your mind to something different once in a while. Books are more than words on pages, sometimes they are pictures which can satisfy the mind in the same way.
