Tidings of Great Boys
An All About Us Novel, No. 5
by Shelley Adina
Lady Lindsay MacPhail is a girl who always has a plan. Her Christmas plans include
reconnecting with old friends in Scotland while getting all her new friends over to the family
castle for the holidays. Mac also wants to get her parents back together and have the biggest
holiday party ever held at the castle. But after managing the first steps in her plan, she
discovers problems she’d never expected. Now, she has to save the castle, rescue her friend
Shani from scary men in black, and convince one reluctant young man that she's the perfect
girl for him.
As she plots and plans for ways of dealing with these problems, Mac also has to answer a
few personal questions about what really makes a good friend and whether going to church is
enough to make her a Christian. As with past books in this series, I enjoy the freshness of
seeing young women dealing with questions of faith and life in a realistic manner. This is a
series that acknowledges that being a Christian doesn't make all problems disappear. And it's
always nice to see a book that doesn't assume all people with money are vicious, back-stabbing
monsters. The plot moves along at a rapid pace, and though the story problems aren't ones
we're very likely to encounter, they're handled with flair and humor. |
