Goop Soup
#3 in the Nathan Abercrombie, Accidental Zombie series

by David Lubar

Nathan Abercrombie is a zombie.  Only his closest friends and members of the secret BUM organization (the Bureau of Useful Misadventures) know that Nathan is dead, and has become a zombie.  BUM looks for kids who mess up some way, and would be good spies, with their mission being to make the world a better place.  Nathan is in training with BUM, and when gobs of green goop come out of the water faucets all over town, it looks like a job for BUM and Nathan.

When Nathan steps on a rusty nail, his Mom insists that he must see a doctor.  The kids are frantic to figure out how to give Nathan a temperature, heartbeat and pulse so that the doctor won't realize that he is not among the living. Their innovative ideas are surprising and hilarious.

A trip into the sewers with his friends Abigail and Mookie to solve the green goop mystery may end Nathan's zombie spy career. Filled with fast action and laugh-out-loud funny, this story will entrance young readers of all ages. David Lubar is a master at characterization and plot... definitely an author to watch for.
