The Home Run Kid Races On
Matt Christopher Sports Series

by Matt Christopher
Read by: Joshua Swanson

Matt Christopher's text and Joshua Swanson's exciting reading of The Home Run Kid Races On make this an excellent book for introducing young readers (listeners) to some of the greats of baseball.

Sylvester Coddmyer has a secret. He's being coached by men who look exactly like legends of the game: Babe Ruth, Eddie Ciotte and Mickey Mantle. Then enters Ty Cobb and there seems to be a duel between Cobb and Ruth for Sylvester's allegiance. Will Sylvester follow the more docile Ruth or will he go for the vicious play of Cobb?

This is an excellent CD for introducing reluctant readers to baseball, but subsequent books should be in text formattype (or a combination of each). After all we want the young players to read as well as they play ball.

Even older readers (including adults) would love this paranormal story about baseball.
