Book Marketing in the Digital Age
Online Promotion Made Easy
by Yvonne Perry
The best advice always comes from someone who has been there, done that. It tends to be practical, and easy-to-follow.
Yvonne Perry's Book Marketing in the Digital Age is a perfect illustration of how and why it works that way.
Perry is not only an editor but has written and promoted a nonfiction book of her own, Right to Recover:
Winning the Political and Religious Wars Over Stem Cell Research in America. Thus the resources she
gives—from online radio programs to online social networks—are things she has tried herself, things that
have worked well for her. That kind of information is much better for newbie authors than info that has merely been
researched.
I should insert a caveat here. I've been hanging around the Web for some time now and I still learned much from
this book. While reviewing (read "reviewing" as "reminders") and some new resources never hurt any writer, no matter
how practiced she might be. Still, this book is presented in such a way that new authors will get it. And the
information in it is essential even if they choose to work with a publicist or with a Web designer.
After reading Book Marketing in the Digital Age any author will be better equipped to be a full partner
in the publishing process of her book and, yes, "publishing process" includes the promotion of it.
Oh, another caveat. I am quoted in this book. I didn't know that before I offered to review it. I just wanted to
read it. And I'm glad I did. You will be, too. |
