Over the past four decades, Amanda Bearse has played the role of the filmmaker, comedian, teacher, and mother.
For about 17 years of those four decades, one woman has been by her side. That woman is Carrie Schenken.

It’s not clear how the “Married… With Children” star met her partner.
However, since Schenken is a camera technician, I can only assume that the two met while working in the industry. Who knows, maybe they had a friend in common, too?
Either way, they’ve been together since 2008.

Long before Amanda Bearse met Carrie Schenken, the filmmaker had adopted a baby girl called Zoe. She even said that having Zoe in her life encouraged her to “come out” to her fans.
As Bearse and Schenken’s relationship grew, the two became co-parents.
Some sources say they adopted a second child later, but I haven’t found anything conclusive to support these rumors. So, let’s just say they have one kid.
3. Ed O’Neill Wasn’t Invited to Her Wedding

Schenken and the Hollywood star tied the knot in 2010. Some of the “Married… With Children” cast members were invited to the ceremony—not Ed O’Neill, though.
You might know about this already, but Bearse and O’Neill had a long feud.
According to O’Neill, it all started when he was given the chance to be on the cover of TV Guide, but Bearse wasn’t. He says Bearse wanted him to stand by her side and talk to the show creator to try and get her on the cover as well.
O’Neill didn’t do it. So, when the filmmaker was planning her wedding to Schenken, she didn’t invite O’Neill, who got angry and lashed out.
Side Note: Bearse thinks the feud was more about the shifting power dynamics on set.
4. She and Her Partner Both Appreciate Anonymity

Well, Amanda Bearse started directing, which takes us to the second point: Both Schenken and Bearse appreciate a low-profile life.
She partly started directing as a backup plan. You see, she thought that if she couldn’t act anymore, at least she could direct. But I think it was also because working behind the camera created more room for anonymity.
Plus, Bearse took her family away from Hollywood just so they could have a more “normal” life.
And in case you haven’t noticed, Carrie Schenken is also a very private person, hence the lack of information about her life.
5. She’s the Same Age as Bearse

Working behind the scenes in showbiz isn’t the only thing Schenken and Bearse have in common. The two were born in 1958, which makes them 66 years old at the time of writing this article.

I can’t blame Carrie Schenken for staying out of the spotlight all these years. After all, being a celebrity partner can’t be easy!
