Karue Sell: What Is the Top Brazilian Tennis Player’s Current ATP Ranking?

Karue Sell is a Brazilian tennis player and YouTuber, known for sharing tennis-related content on his channel, including tutorials, tips, tricks, and the latest news. Before turning pro, Sell served as an assistant coach for Pepperdine University during the 2016 to 2017 season.

Currently ranked No. 258 by the ATP Tour, Karue Sell has made an impact both on and off the court. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

Early Life

Karue Sell was born on November 13, 1993, in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. He began playing tennis at just five years old, encouraged by his parents who were recreational players. He tried his hand at other sports like basketball, golf, and soccer, too, but tennis was the one he favored the most.

“The nature of individual sports fit my personality perfectly, so I dove right in,” Sell shared in a blog post published in My Tennis HQ.

At age 11, Sell was named the state champion in the under-10 category, which led to him training at an academy in Itajaí run by former top 100 player Ivan Kley. Sell’s mother drove him to practice three times a week, and by age 14 they moved to Itajaí to train every day.

Around a year later, Sell was ranked the top tennis player under 16 in Brazil. He then joined the junior ITF circuit, where he quickly won two titles and achieved a career-high junior ranking of No. 33 in the world.

In 2012, Sell attended the University of California Los Angeles tennis team and became a key member. He played for UCLA for four years before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography in 2016.

Today, Sell has a record of 104-31 in singles matches and 90-41 in doubles play.
