A New Year in Romance

Okay, so now we’re in 2012. A brand new year for new drama, killings, issues, divorces, sexual abuse, and the list goes on and on. I find myself hoping that this year will be better than last year. I always tell myself that I will do the things that I didn’t do in 2011. My health will be in remission, and I will do some traveling. Again, I don’t plan on making new years resolutions because I can never fulfill them. I just hope and pray that I will be able to accomplish my goals and dreams in 2012. Right now, I am so thrilled to be alive, and my family, friends, and co-workers are alive and well too.

Of course the financial, health, relationships, unemployment, and evil issues are still bordering on our sanity, but we will handle them the same way we handled them in 2011. But this year is going to be better for readers, and books. This is the age for the nook, ipad, kindle fire, tablets, and kobo readers, and the list goes on. Therefore, people will be doing a lot more reading, and the books of romance will be added to their e-reader device. There were a lot of electronics given for Christmas gifts last year, mostly iPod's, but there were a lot of e-readers and tablets also under the Christmas tree.

So I believe the world will move toward reading and spending more time with books instead of watching reality shows, and the nonsense that’s parading the television these days. Things have changed so much for television with the dismissal of All My Children and now One Life to live this month. I grew up with these shows, so it’s sad to see them being dismissed probably because of too many reality shows. Television is not like it used to be, believe me. It’s time for us to turn the button on television off, and turn on those Kindle and Nook, and start reading our magazines and our books of mystery and romance.

I spent a lot of time on my holiday vacation catching up on my reading, and I have read some fantastic books including:

Taste of Desire by Kayla Perrin
Fractured by Wendy Byrne
Everything in Between by Crystal Hubbard
Winter Kisses by A.C. Arthur
A Compromising Affair by Gwynne Foster

I can go on and on, but I was thrilled that I got to spend my time doing what I love best, and that is reading, reading, and reading romance, which is my passion. I have to admit that I read other books too like James Patterson, and Jackie Collins; but there’s nothing like a man and woman meeting across the room, and finding love in all the right places. The two main characters fighting their innermost demons and then finding true love against all odds.

So let’s begin 2012 in a positive light because the violence and the evil will continue as it did last year. If we can escape for a moment, let’s dive into a book of romance and feel the joy and passion that we can in this horrific world. This is only the beginning of a new year with many surprises and tragedies, which we can’t control or understand.

Take a ride with me and romance, and enjoy the ride. It’s a great way to start off 2012. Why not?
