Blair the Bear

by Dave Pasquale

A poetic romp into the world of a pear loving bear who also makes furniture.  Pierre and Claire wander away from home and discover a cave which begs to be explored... and what do they find inside but Daddy's old rocking chair.  As they are playing with the chair, Blair the Bear returns home.  The frightened kids run away, but immediately start making plans to return the next day. As they venture into the cave, there is Blair in Daddy's chair. They hear him talking to Harry the Hare; Blair is sorry he frightened them, and hopes they will come back.

A great friendship blossoms between Blair and the kids and they come back every day.  When Pierre and Clair discover the wonderful furniture that Blair makes they talk Blair and Harry into coming home with them to meet their father.

This lively, funny, rhyming story will be a favorite read-aloud to share at bedtime or family time. While the book is listed some places for children 9-12, younger kids ages 4-8 will also enjoy this delightful story. The whimsical illustrations add great visual interest to the story, and the book comes complete with a free audio book download so that it can be added to an ipod or burned to an audio CD for listening pleasure.
