Sid, the skeleton, is back. Yep,
I said skeleton. Sid’s story is first explained in A
Skeleton in the Family, and readers will enjoy seeing
Sid develop even more in this mystery. Sid lives with Georgia
Thackery and her daughter Madison. Georgia is an adjunct professor
at the local college. She tends to enlighten readers on what
a thankless job it can be, except when it gives her access
to people and information to solve a mystery.
In this mystery, Madison offers Sid a part in her school
play. Sid’s head (skull) is starring in Hamlet when
he overhears a murder. He tells Georgia about it, but when
Georgia looks into it there is no body, no murder scene. When
Georgia hears about a missing teacher she places an anonymous
call to the local police, but nothing happens. Georgia and
Sid feel morally obligated to solve this mystery. Georgia’s
sleuthing has her teaching a class at PennyCross High School
and Sid – or his skull, anyway, is hiding out, listening
for clues. The case eventually invades their personal life
and takes a dangerous turn.
The Skeleton Takes a Bow is a complicated mystery
with a unique team to solve it. Sid loves the internet and
wants to evolve. Georgia is a parent who takes the time to
explain life to Madison and her class mates. Madison tries
to keep her life as normal as possible, which isn’t
easy when you share a home with a walking, talking skeleton
who is often hunted by their family dog.
Perry’s Family Skeleton series is always entertaining.
Highly Recommended.
