Rachel Morgan has hunted it all as both a witch and a bounty hunter: vampires, werewolves, banshees, demons, and other supernatural dangers. But now she must fight against her own kind. She has been shunned and denounced for dealing with demons and black magic. All this in a world where humans, witches, pixies, and the like all coexist.

She's been forced to be connected to the demon, Al; she's been summoned by his name by witches that want to lobotomize her and sterilize her, because of her connection to a demon and the fact that she's been forced to use black magic to survive; people she thought were friends have betrayed her; and now she has a black magic using used-to-be ghost that now has a new body as a babysitter. And that is just the first day!

Now Rachel must find a way to convince the coven that she is not a demon. To do that she must trust an ex-boyfriend-turned-thief and an unscrupulous tycoon, and the demon to help her with the tasks she must perform. Will she finally come up with the proof she needs? Will she be able to get the bull’s-eye off her head before someone she cares about gets hurt?

This book was a bit off the beaten path for me. Not one of the usual types that I read. It's not a bad story, just not my cup of tea. Those who enjoy witches and spells, and things of that sort will truly love this book. I am a little curious as to how this story will continue in the next book, Pale Demon, which was released February 22, 2011. This book was a slow read for me. However, I'm sure others will whip right through it.
