Willow Tate just wants a nice quiet life as a graphic novelist
in New York City. Unfortunately, she's a visualizer and must often
come to the rescue for the slightly unusual residents of her hometown
in Paumanok Harbor. In this installment, Willow is working on a
novel and ignoring her dreams until she has to face facts -- she
has chiggors and she's pretty sure her grandmother is the only one
who can cure them.
When her beloved semi-psychotic Pomeranian Little Red starts itching
too, Willow gives up and
heads for Paumanok Harbor and a cure. Once there, she learns that
Paumanok Harbor has gone bird crazy since someone has reported seeing
a rare bird near Willow's grandmother's house. The bird, Oey, is
rare all right -- in fact, it's otherworldly. And Oey is only the
beginning of the problems for Paumanok Harbor. It'll take all of
Willow's ability to save Paumanok Harbor this time.
As always, this installment of the Willow Tate story is funny,
fast-paced and mildly sexy. The eccentric residents of Paumanok
Harbor are as charming as ever -- and we even meet a sentient house
that communicates through music! Though the happy ending is never
in doubt, it's the ride that counts in this novel with kooky characters,
funny twists, and a love life that feels wonderfully awkward and
almost real. I always enjoy a visit to the Hamptons with Willow.
