First, after listening
to John Maxwell's, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, I
was disappointed to hear the voice of Chris Sorensen. It was
a letdown. Maxwell's voice is so well suited to audio, that
in comparison, Sorensen fell flat. His voice was an octave
too high and the sing song of it was annoying. I am not sure
why Maxwell chose not to read his own work, but the material
suffered under Sorensen.
The purpose
of the material is to help the reader learn how to get started
on the path to finding one's own significance in the world.
Finding one's purpose is the key to leading a life that matters.
The title of the book certainly leads one to believe that
it will impress, but I cannot honestly report that it did.
I found it difficult to get through just the first cd, and
there were only three total.
I will
make this short and semi-sweet.
It is
nothing new, shallow, and trite. As I listened, I was left
with empty thoughts. I heard little that made me think that
this was a book of significance. I rarely write a critical
review, but this one is just not worth the time it took him
to write it, me to review it, or you to read it. Your time
is more significant than that.
