Zombie-Loan
Book II
by Peach-Pit
Michiru Kita has reluctantly become an agent of the Z-Loan Company, and together with classmates Chika and Shito,
the unlikely trio have a strange job. They are bounty hunters, forced to track down rogue zombies and dispatch them
in order to pay their debt. In this second volume, Michiru finds herself occupying some strange new lodgings,
making some strange new friends, as well as being on the trail of an online serial killer called The Butterfly.
Anybody who has read the first volume (previously
reviewed on this site) will no doubt be
enjoying this enjoyable fantasy. This is not a long book, but nicely crammed with adventures and incidents as well
as plenty of tantalising loose ends. Who is the chancellor? What about Michiru’s intriguing new friend, Koyomi, or
new member of the team, Shiba? This is a story that keeps developing new strands to keep readers on their toes, and
the illustrations are excellent, with a nice balance between cuteness and darkness, just like the story itself. I
eagerly await the next installment. |
