Theodosia and the staff of Indigo Tea Shop are back for their seventh Tea Shop Mystery.
Theo, Drayton and Haley are catering the Heritage Society fundraiser. During the fundraiser, historical
preservationist Duke Wilkes is murdered. Theodosia is talked into doing a little sleuthing. Detective Tidwell would
rather she stay at the Shop and bake crumpets. Lucky for him, she doesn’t, because Theo is able to clue him in on
a couple of things. He pays her back in kind when a bad decision lands her in deep water.
Childs is in top form. Her characters continue to develop and her mysteries
continue to entertain. In some of the books readers learn about
all the characters and in others it’s all about Theo. This is one
of those mysteries. Theo detects alone, mostly, and Earl Grey comes
up missing. She bounces ideas off others, but for the most part
the staff keeps the shop in business. At the end of the mystery,
Childs offers readers Indigo Tea Shop recipes and Tea Time Tips.
Highly entertaining. Highly recommended.
