Murder Melts in Your Mouth
A Blackbird Sisters Mystery #7

by Nancy Martin

The Blackbird family is one wacky set of characters! Murder Melts in Your Mouth is a fun and amazingly entertaining mystery to read.

Nancy Martin's phenomenal sense of humor shines through on every page of this delightful mystery. The mystery element is first-class and kept me guessing to the very end and trying to figure out the who-done-it. I can't wait to read the next Blackbird sisters mystery!

Nora Blackbird works for the Philadelphia Intelligencer writing a social column, mostly reporting on charity events. When Libby, Nora's sister, walks into traffic while talking on her cell phone and is hit by a Rolls-Royce, it is Nora who finds herself with the added responsibility of caring for Libby's five children.

Nora is also dealing with her wayward younger sister, Emma, who has experienced a contraceptive malfunction and now finds herself pregnant. This along with her recent breakup with and mixed feelings for boyfriend, Michael Abruzzo, the son of a mobster.

It is in the midst of all this chaos that Hoyt Cavendist falls to his death from an office balcony. The question is how did Hoyt Cavendist go over the balcony railing? Did he jump or was he pushed?

Nora is further discombobulated when her eccentric parents return to the United States after a two-year absence. They were never to set foot in the US again or the IRS would throw them in prison. But it turns out Nora's parents were able to return to the US by working with the authorities in their investigation of none other than Hoyt Cavendish. Hoyt, a philanthropist, had given away millions of dollars but the problem is the money wasn't his to give away.

Because of Hoyt's shady business dealings, the list of suspects who wanted him dead is a long one and one of the prime suspects is Nora's best friend and Hoyt's business partner Lexie Paine. As events unfold, the truth reveals not everyone is who or what they claim to be.
